When looking for a healthier way to live, I started looking at alternatives to deep frying. I have tried baking as a substitute (i.e. baked fries) and it is just not the same – my three boys would also say that it is not the same. No one is happy. I stumbled across this “air frying” idea and thought it was worth a closer look. Today I am reviewing the Phillips AirFryer to see if it is the answer to my frying prayers.
Philips AirFryer Review – What Is It?
The Philips AirFryer is also know as the “Philips HD9230/26 Digital AirFryer with Rapid Air Technology”. For those of us that are new to the “air frying” movement, I had to do some research to understand how the Philips AirFryer even works. It works very much like a convection oven – circulating hot air around food during the cooking process and it gets its fried “taste” from the minute amount of oil used in the cooking process. This Philips AirFryer comes with a digital touch screen interface that lets you adjust the temperature up to 390 degrees, allowing you to cook a variety of food. It has a 60-minute timer with ready signal and auto shut-off, includes a double layer rack to maximize your air fryer’s cooking surface and the parts are all dishwasher-safe.
Philips AirFryer Review – What I Like
The thing I like most about the Philips AirFryer is the fact that you can “fry” food without using much oil. Even though some of the recipes call for a small amount of oil, it represents a huge decrease in the amount of oil contained in the deep fried food that we all love and consume. The reviews for this product all rave about the quality of the “fried” food and the taste of that food. In other words, it lives up to its promise. I also love that because it is a convection-type over, it speeds up the cooking time of most foods. As a busy working mom, this makes me happy as does the dishwasher safe parts. Cooking is fast and cleanup is easy. I am impressed with the Philips AirFryer and its versatility!
Philips AirFryer Review – What I Didn’t Like
After sorting through dozens of reviews, most were glowing, there were a few negative comments about the size of the Philips AirFryer. Most say it is a very large unit which could be a problem if you have limited kitchen space. For me, it is not a barrier to trying this great product.
Philips AirFryer Review – Overall Thoughts
I am very excited to start using the Philips AirFryer for my family. Getting to “fry” without all the oil makes me feel like a better person, a better mother. I can still give my kids crispy french fries or sweet potato fries, with a fraction of the oil. The size of the Philips AirFryer will not deter me from trying this product – I am buying this today!
